From opening the box you can already notice the board’s attractive looks from top to bottom. The quality of components it posses is truly top of the line. The board is bundled with many useful items which some are new and haven’t seen before.

The package includes the User’s manual, 2-way/3-way SLI bridge, ASUS Q-Shield, 8x SATA 6GB/s cables which is usual bundle from any motherboard. The M.2 X4 bracket, WiFi moving Antennas, Fan Extension card, Q-Connector, 5-pin to 5-pin cable and the Thermistor cable is what the ASUS X99 Deluxe has included.

The Looks And Connectivity

As I mention earlier, the ASUS X99 Deluxe looks awesome in black and cream color scheme. This is way different from its previous design that shows maturity in the ASUS Deluxe motherboard line. The white plastic covers the I/O ports that extend through the Crystal Sound 2 components. The design is almost identical to ASUS TUF Sabertooth motherboard but, it doesn’t cover the entire board.

Heatsinks have a decent size on the regulator part and the X99 PCH. The CPU socket provides adequate space for the cooling system and in case you need to upgrade for overclocking purposes. Beside the CPU socket are the 8x DIMM slots that support up to 64GB DDR4 3200MHz.

The 24-pin ATX power connector is intelligently placed on the side of the board for fast and simple connection while the 8-pin is located nearby the regulator heatsink.

Looking at the storage area, you can see the M.2 X4 socket in vertical key design between the 24-pin power connector and SATA ports. There’s an army of SATA ports on the ASUS X99 Deluxe board. You got 8x SATA 6Gb/s, 1 SATAe port compatible with SATA 6Gb/s, 1 SATAe port compatible with 2x SATA 6Gb/s coming from ASMedia controller.

Turning on the expansion slots you can notice the PCIe x16 in black. The first one runs at x16 for single GPU, the second runs at x16/x16 in dual GPU while the rest runs at the following modes x16/x16/x8, x8/x8/x16/x8, x8/x8/x8/x8/x8. A single PCIe x1 is available in between the first two PCIe x16 ports.

Finally at the back I/O panel, you can never be short of the USB port because it provides 10x USB 3.0 in blue and another 2x USB 2.0 in black. There are 2x LAN ports, USB BIOS Flashback button, Optical S/PDIF out, ASUS WiFi module and 5x Audio jacks.

Overclocking The ASUS X99 Deluxe

The ASUS X99 Deluxe is set to overclock to find out how far it can take the Intel Core i7 5960X EE processor. The system uses the following components for the test setup, NVidia GTX 780 Ti 3GB video card, Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR4 Quad channel, Corsair Force GT 240GB SSD, Corsair H100i CPU cooler, Corsair AX-1200i power supply and Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit.

The 8-Core Intel Core i7 5960X EE has a stock clock speed of 3.0 GHz and can be boosted up to 3.5 GHz. However, if you’re not happy with it you can do some tweaking on the ASUS X99 Deluxe. We go down to the UEFI BIOS, raising the multiplier to X44 then slightly increase the voltage and leaving the base clock to 100MHz. The result was amazing and got a full stability at 4.4GHz on top of 3.0 GHz CPU stock speed.

We’re still not happy with the 4.4GHz and push it a bit up to 4.5GHz by raising the multiplier to X45 and again it was successfully run at full stability. However, attempting to X46 to reach the 4.6GHz failed us and received a BSOD even though we rose up the voltage.

The final result was 4.5GHz and we’re happy with it and runs flawlessly with a definite increased in its smoothness. Though, the ASUS X99 Deluxe is not made for overclocking beast it provides us a decent 1.5 GHz speed gain on top of 3.0 GHz stock speed of Intel Core i7 5960X EE.

The ASUS X99 Deluxe shows an incredible performance. The looks is absolutely beautiful from top to bottom, the built is rock solid while the quality is top of the line that leads to its awesomeness. The ASUS X99 Deluxe provides tons of features more than any motherboard out there. ASUS puts on the new O.C. socket, extra M.2 X4 card support, 5-way optimization that brings tremendous benefits, Turbo App, Turbo LAN and Crystal Sound 2 is just amazing.

If we talk about overclocking, the ASUS X99 Deluxe brings more on the table with full stability at 4.5GHz. It gives you a super easy manual overclocking using the UEFI BIOS that will give you color signals if the voltage you’re in is safe or not.

The price tag it offers is a bit on the high side though, it is not the highest compare to ROG based motherboard. The cost is fully justified as it gives more than you’re expecting. If you got extra cash on the pocket the decision to buy the ASUS X99 Deluxe is definitely no mistake. >>Click Here to get it at its Lowest Price!
